I think that the post must include the money that generate the tennis, especially Wimbledon Tournament with the money that comes from the bets in the betting houses. But all in all, great post with clear explanation.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I enjoyed reading the text and get a better understanding about events which I have heard about previously but still know very little about. However I would really like to get an understanding of how much money the sponsors are paying since the tickets sales revenue is very low. But overall good post and nice layout!

It's a very big tournament indeed. But I would like to know how does it compare with Roland-Garros in terms of attractivity, revenues etc ? - Hendrick
ReplyDeleteIt is impressive the money that moves in this type of tournaments, not only for the show, also for the activities that are generated. I have seen the extra PDF and there is really a lot of money at stake. Just thinking that they move more than 31 million dollars just for the tournament, I don't want to imagine what can happen in London...
ReplyDeleteIn addition, I agree with the other comments. It would be nice to have a comparison of the money that moves in other types of tournaments
It is incredible the quantities generated by an event of such caliber, and it is true that it is one of the most recognized tournaments, but not everything is positive. Yes, it has a lot of tradition and has many years of history but a personal opinion of mine is that I can not stand it that do not adapt to changes, to new times, that follow their archaic norms.
ReplyDeleteWhy do not they adopt the same rules as the three grand slams of the year? I speak of the Australian Open, Roland Garros and Open USA.
The one that bothers me most, is because they do not respect the WTA and ATP list?
I do not understand it, that they apply their criteria and I think that many people who like tennis, think the same.
Now I am really interesting to go in some Wimbledon tennis tournament! In Brazil I never heard too much about tennis but I would like to know! Looks really cool to play tennis! but like the others, the sport has business involved. Do you think the business is good for this kind of sport?
ReplyDeletebecause in soccer, when you are a big fan of the sport, is not good when you think about the business...
DeleteI've been once in Wimbledon and it's amazing. The infrastructure is huge and fantastic. The environment is so cool, and it is a place that I realy recommend to go. After reading this article I learned many things that I didn't know before, like the money that generates this well-known tournament. So I'm even happier to went once to this uncommon championship.

ReplyDeleteAmazing post about one of the best tennis tourements of the year with Roland Garros. In my opiniĆ³n Wimbledon is the most special tourement of the year, because it's historic, classic and it have some particularities like the white equipment that the players wear every year. Also is always very well organised and the revenues that Wimbledon generate are because is a very important event that people interested in sports want to follow. Also some people assist to this tourement to make business because is also a social event where you can find famous persons and people with a lot of money.
